E3 2022 To Be An Online Only Event Again Due To COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing. It has had an influence on several video game events over the past two years, notably the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3. E3 2020 has been postponed, and E3 2021 will be a digital-only event. There have been no new developments on E3 2022, until now.

"Due to the continued health hazards regarding COVID-19 and its possible influence on the safety of exhibitors and guests, E3 will not be hosted in person in 2022," the ESA said in a statement. We're still really enthused about E3's future, and we'll be releasing more news shortly." They told VentureBeat that they are "excited about the prospects of an online event," but they did not indicate whether or not one will take place.
