Niantic Labs Is Laying Down The Ban Hamer On Pokemon GO Cheaters

Niantic Labs is cracking down on those who are cheating in Pokemon GO. This includes those who are GPS spoofing (faking the location you are in). The company has advised that it has been “reviewing many reports of in game cheating” and has started to take action on those abusing the game and creating an unfair advantage over other players. Here’s the full post:
“Trainers,
After reviewing many reports of in-game cheating, we have started taking action against players taking unfair advantage of and abusing Pokemon GO. Moving forward, we will continue to terminate accounts that show clear signs of cheating. Our main priority with Pokemon GO is to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate game experience for all players. If our system has determined that you cheated, then you will receive an email stating that your account has been terminated. If you do believe your account has been terminated incorrectly, you should report it to the Pokémon GO Help Center:

The Pokemon GO Development team

Instances of the bans taking place have been popping up on social media, such as the image below, posted by a Pokemon GO user to one of the local UK Pokemon GO groups on Facebook: AsPlayers have the right to appeal their ban if they feel it has been done in error. If the appeal is unsuccessful the account will remain permanently terminated.
