You Can Now Upgrade Your PlayStation Network Accounts

Sony announced that will now allow gamers who had PlayStation "sub" accounts upgrade to a full membership when they turn 18. Sub accounts were a way to allow parents to allow underage gamers to access PlayStation Network while maintaining some control over their activity. Parents would assign the sub account under their "master" account, and could then set parameters like spending limits or regulating access to share functionality and live chat. Previously, a gamer that turned 18 and wanted a full master account would have to re-register for a new PSN account.
