Here’s What You Need To Know About The Second Gen AirPods Pro

Apple has announced the second generation of AirPods Pro, which are powered by the new H2 processor and feature significant improvements to Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode.

Customers may experience Touch control for music playback and volume changes straight from the stem, as well as longer battery life, a redesigned charging case, and an extra ear tip size for a better fit, with the second generation.

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) will be available for purchase online and through the Apple Store app right now, with in-store availability beginning Friday, September 23.

THE H2 CHIP

According to Bob Borchers, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, the power of the new H2 processor, built into a lightweight and small housing, delivers an amazing acoustic experience and suppresses up to twice as much noise as the previous generation AirPods Pro. AirPods Pro now deliver fuller bass and crystal-clear sound over a broader spectrum of frequencies, thanks to a new low-distortion audio driver and bespoke amplifier, he says. A new extra tiny ear tip is also included, allowing even more individuals to utilize the AirPods Pro.

Transparency mode allows listeners to be connected to and aware of their surroundings. Adaptive Transparency expands on this functionality even more. According to Borchers, the H2 chip enables on-device processing, which minimizes harsh ambient noise — such as a passing car siren, construction equipment, or loud speakers at a concert — for more pleasant everyday listening.

The new AirPods Pro link instantaneously with all Apple devices, making setup a breeze. Users may access and customize their AirPods features through a new dedicated AirPods section in iOS Settings.

Furthermore, users may now manage media playback and adjust the level without the need for another device. Touch control on AirPods Pro allows for rapid volume adjustments with a gentle touch up or down on the stem. To adjust the music, answer phone calls, and more, press the stem, or speak "Hey Siri" to make requests hands-free. According to Borchers, the enhanced, built-in skin-detect sensor more accurately switches on or off playback and provides longer battery life.

EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE

AirPods Pro provide 1.5 hours more listening time than the original generation, for a total of up to six hours with Active Noise Cancellation. Using the case for four more charges, customers may enjoy up to 30 hours of total listening time with Active Noise Cancellation - a whole six hours more than the previous generation.

Customers may now charge AirPods Pro with an Apple Watch charger, in addition to a MagSafe charger, Qi-certified charging pad, or the Lightning cord, for greater convenience when traveling.
