Blizzard Launches Summer Games Seasonal Event For Overwatch

Blizzard has launched Overwatch's first seasonal event, the Overwatch Summer Games, along with making a new brawl and items available to PS4, Xbox One and PC players. The Summer Games arrives just days before the 2016 Summer Olympics and will run from August 2 through August 22 and introduces the game's latest brawl, Lúcioball. Lúcioball puts players in 3-versus-3 matches in the Estádio das Rãs. The stadium features jump pads and speed-increasing walls, with players trying to knock the ball that is in play into their opponents' goal to score
points. Each match of Lúcioball lasts 4 minutes and the only playable character is Lúcio. The Summer Games also introduces over 100 new cosmetic items, with loot boxes also receiving a visual update. These boxes can't be purchased with credit but are guaranteed to have at least 1 piece of gear from the Summer Games 2016 collection of items, which includes themed sprays, emotes, victory poses, highlight intros, player icons, and special skins.
You’ll be able to keep any items collected during the Summer Games, but the collection "will be heading back into the vault" once the seasonal event concludes.
