Apple To Have Wireless Charging For iOS Devices By 2017

A report by Bloomberg claims that Apple is working on a wireless charging technology for iPhone and iPad capable at a long distance, with a potential launch for 2017. Apple is particularly concerned with energy loss over distance, a physical limitation inherent in any wireless charging system. While other electronics manufacturers have marketed wireless charging solutions for sometime, Samsung being a good example, Apple only recently started working with inductive technology with Apple Watch. The Magnetic Charging Cable included with the Watch contains magnets that interface with complementary magnets in the Apple Watch to correctly align the devices’ inductive power elements, which maximizes energy transfer efficiency. Rumors of an Apple working on a wireless charging solution have circulated for years, but there hasn’t been hard evidence of Apple working on it. What do you think of Apple pursuing wireless charging ?
