iPhone X Shipments Up 2.8% Year Over Year

Apple’s first quarter saw the iPhone maker move 52.2 million iPhones representing a modest 2.8% year-over-year increase from the 50.8 million units shipped last year, according to the IDC research group. Despite rumors of an underperforming iPhone X in the quarter, the iPhone X was the most popular model each week in the March quarter. The success of the more expensive iPhone X combined with healthy sales of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus helped grow average sales prices 11.1% to $728, up from $655 last year.
